Adidas by Stella McCartney: a first store in London
The very first Adidas by Stella McCartney store opened its doors on Saturday 26th May on London’s Fulham Road. With just two months to go before the Olympic Games start, the opening of the store – 800 square feet spread over two floors and designed by architects APA (London) – is a clear strategic move, offering not only the Adidas by Stella McCartney collections but also pieces from the lifestyle collection and replicas of Team GB’s Olympic uniform. It was Stella McCartney who was entrusted with the design of Team GB’s official uniforms by its sportswear supplier, Adidas.
The opening of this first Adidas by Stella McCartney store, which could be replicated internationally, marks the high point of an eight-year long collaboration between the German sportswear company and the British designer. Adidas by Stella McCartney’s first collection was launched in the spring of 2005 to offer women stylish sportswear for running, winter sports, yoga and even golf.
Stella McCartney has really expanded her retail offering with this new store, situated next to the Stella McCartney boutique which opened last April and which offers the British designer’s main line and children’s line.
