Boardwalk beauty
Break it down, and everything about this outfit is disarmingly simple: the shapeless cream dress that breaks out into stripes as it nears the bottom hemline, the simple nude wedges, the little black clutch, the unfussy ponytail. Only the long beaded necklaces has a level of ornateness. But from all these simple parts a cohesive whole forms – a whole that plays to the return 1920s fashion but that manages to do so with just the right amount of theming.

While a more true-to-history hairstyle or more authentic vintage pieces would suit the look, they could also push it over into feeling costume-ish. Instead the outfit, as snapped by Vanessa Jackman, feels fresh.
