Theyskens’ Theory Spring 2012 RTW | ELLE
Has anyone else noticed that the weather has been SO unpredictable lately? I mean, one day it will be warm enough to go sans-jacket, then two days later I’ll be pulling on my heavy duty winter coat. That’s why I’m glad I discovered the Theyskens’ Theory Spring 2012 collection — their use of textures, fabrics and layering is brimming with inspiration for that tricky transition time from winter to spring.
However, since buying clothes straight off the runway would definitely be pricey, I’ve put together three budget-friendly interpretations of looks from this collection. Keep on scrolling to check them out!

This look is a prime example of what I meant about playing with textures — from the metallic blazer to the waxed jeans, this outfit elevates basic wardrobe staples to a whole new level.

Product Info: Jacket- H&M, Ring- Nasty Gal, Shirt- Ruche, Sweater- Old Navy, Jeans- Mango, Shoes- Endless
For this outfit, start by layering a chambray button-up with a gray open-weave sweater — make it so only the collar and cuffs peek out of the sweater. Add some super-trendy waxed jeans (If they aren’t your style, just swap ‘em out for your favorite pair of regular jeans!) and a sleek silver blazer. Then finish this look with some lace-up pumps and an edgy ring for a casual, yet stylish look.

This look uses mixed prints and creative layering to create a chic, laid-back outfit that’s perfect for transitional weather — depending on the temperature, just add or subtract layers!

Product Info: Blazer- Old Navy, Tee- J. Crew, Shirt- Forever 21, Earrings- Kate Spade, Loafers- Target, Shorts- MNG by Mango, Necklace- French Connection
Mimic this look by pairing some floral print shorts with a basic white t-shirt. Add a blouse in a contrasting print (leave the buttons open) then layer on a fun denim blazer. A pair of loafers keeps the look casual, while a layered necklace and stud earrings add a stylish finishing touch.

All of the looks from Theyskens’ Theory have a bit of a masculine vibe, but I especially liked how this one mixed a slouchy tee and jeans with a fitted tweed jacket, which dresses up the outfit and adds a dose of femininity.

Product Info: Blazer- House of Fraser, Tank- Topshop, Bag- H&M, Flats- ASOS, Jeans- American Eagle Outfitters, Earrings- bebe
Snag this look for yourself by pairing some slouchy boyfriend jeans with a silver lamé tank, then add a gray tweed blazer. A pair of embellished flats and a structured bag add polish while the feathered earrings are a chic touch. This outfit would be perfect for class or even going out to lunch with the girls.
