Troy Costa @Van Heusen India Men’s Week
Troy Costa had a unique source of inspiration for his collection for Van Heusen India Men’s Week – the colour of ink used in account books!
“Book keepers use red ink to record losses and black ink to record profits of a company and this is what I will portray in my collection,” Troy revealed.
The designer presented sharp and fitted silhouettes emphasising the shoulders and collar details. The high point was a variety of trousers, shorter than the usual length.
With plush velvet, silk embodied with crepe, linen and cotton – all primarily black with accents of grey and purple – luxury was the defining sentimen of the collection.
“My emphasis is on immaculate tailoring and undeniable detail with a focus on luxury. There is tremendous value addition made to the fabrics used in the collection by quilting and heat sealing. In addition, lacquering, which is one of the latest techniques, has also been used,” the designer added.
