Uncommon beauty: Sarah Tarrant Kuang
Beauty is subjective, but there are elements of it that are also universal. If you were to do a psychological study of what beauty is, you’d find that the strongest types of beauty always leave a question unanswered, always have some mystery or asymmetry. To put it another way, we’re awe-inspired by things that are perfect, but mesmerised by things that aren’t.
FASHIONTREND Magazine’s 26th issue is dedicated to ‘uncommon beauty’; the things that break the cliches, that aren’t necessarily the universal definition of perfection, and that are all the more alluring as a result.
The issue’s cover story, Dark Angel, finds its uncommon beauty in Sarah Tarrant Kuang. With piercing dark eyes, skin dotted with constellations of freckles, and a daring shaved hairstyle belying a petite, feminine frame, Kuang is the ideal poster girl for the issue.

With a showcase of New Zealand Fashion Week and the Spring / Summer collections direct from Milan and New York, FASHIONTREND’s 26th issue is 150+ pages of fashion worth hunting down in print. You can find it on shelf as of Thursday 22nd December. Head to fashiontrend.com.au for more information.
