Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, who turned 30 last month, is back to being single. He doesn’t flinch from admitting that he wasseeing someone till last year, and was left heartbroken from the experience.

Talking to DNA, Neil says, “My last relationship ended in a heartbreak. It was fabulous while it lasted.The woman I was with, walked out on me without giving me an explanation or any sort of closure. I do understand that issues crop up, but it is very essential that they get sorted. That never happened. I never got the chance to explain and now things are different.”

The actor states that the experience has left him wiser.

“I was in a state of denial for a long time,” recalls Neil, adding, “But then I realised that I will have to accept it and move on. I am out of it now.”

The shadows from his face recede when he beams, “I think I am ready to fall in love again!”

Neil is making the most of being single, but says he would be equally happy even if he’s in a relationship.

“It’s good to be single and independent, but it is great to share your joys and sorrows with someone too. And I am an extremely dedicated partner. I will do anything to make my woman smile,” he says.

So what is it that he’s looking for in his girl?

“I am a very simple guy at heart. I want someone who will understand my family values and try to blend in. She has to love my parents as much as I do,” says Neil.

“I had thought I would be married by now, but I guess life has different plans always,” he trails off.
