A small time Bollywood actress, Mamata Patel has complained against an unidentified person, who allegedly threatened her over phone saying she would face consequences in case she continued to talk against acclaimed actor Irrfan Khan, police said.
“A non-cognisable offence has been registered against an unidentified person for making a threatening call to actress Mamata Patel. She received the call yesterday when she was at her home in suburban Bhayandar,” said Arun Bhagt, senior inspector at Juhu police station.
Subsequently, Patel, who acted in the critically acclaimed movie Paan Singh Tomar in which Irrfan played a lead role, approached the police station informing about the call, Bhagt said.
According to her, the caller told her not to talk anything bad about Irrfan, police said.
According to sources, Patel was unhappy with her small role in the movie. She started blaming Irfan and the film director Tigmanshu Dhulia saying that the duo had made false promises of a good role for her in the movie.
