While I’m still waiting until Black Friday to do my big ticket purchases (i.e., the steam mop I’ve been eyeing for months), thanks to this weekend’s major sales, I’m getting a headstart on everything else.

Nordstrom just launched its pre-Black Friday sale, with markdowns on pretty much everything you might need for winter. Lauren Ralph Lauren’s quilted barn jacket, a style we’ve seen Katie Holmes and Martha Stewart wear, is 41 percent off. There are also rare savings on Nordstrom’s cashmere, and these comfy pants are just $35. But the item I’m most likely grabbing is Rails’s Arlette Sweater Dress: It’s elegant and a little sexy thanks to that body-skimming fit, but still totally comfortable.
