Annabelle Wallis has long been respected for her versatility as an acotor, seamlessly shifting between period dramas, horror, and sci-fi. The Oxfordshire-born actress trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art before getting her big break as Jane Seymour in The Tudors; a role that she followed up shortly after when she was cast as Grace Burgess in popular British drama series, Peaky Blinders.
But her career has been impressively varied. Perhaps you remember her as a scream queen in Annabelle, or action star in The Mummy, or perhaps the face of Cartier’s Panthère de Cartier collection, of which she was named to be the face of in 2018.
Though her resume is undoubtedly impressive though, many have also wondered about her private life, and specifically, her romance with Sebastian Stan. Her private-but-not-secret relationship with Marvel’s Winter Soldier has interested fans since they started dating in 2022, and with their public outings ramping up this year, it’s only natural that you all have questions. How Did Sebastian Stan And Annabelle Wallis Meet?
Sebastian Stan and Annabelle Wallis reportedly met in May 2022, at Robert Pattinson’s birthday party in New York City. Dating rumours quickly followed the party, thanks to photographer Myles Hendrik shared an Instagram carousel that initially included a photo of the pair appearing to be kissing (that photo has since been deleted).
But although the couple were linked from this time onwards, they have kept their relationship extremely private until recently. One month later, the pair was spotted out for an intimate dinner and they were again spotted out together almost every month that followed. In May 2024, they attended the same Cannes Film Festival event, though no photos were taken of them together.
The pair started officially stepping out together in early 2024, and were photographed together at an after party for Stan’s film premiere, A Different Man. Then, finally, they attended the 2025 Golden Globes together, making their red carpet debut ahead of Stan winning in the category of Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for A Different Man.
What Have They Said About Each Other Publicly?
Despite their preference for privacy, that doesn’t mean they have been totally silent about their relationship and have made rare comments about their love. Most memorably, at the 2025 Golden Globes, Stan paused his acceptance speech to point toward Wallis in the audience and say proudly, “Annabelle, I love you”. The unguarded moment was rare for the couple, but melted hearts around the world.
Wallis, for her part, tends to let Stan’s victories speak for themselves, but when he received his first Oscar nomination for The Apprentice in January 2025, she posted an Instagram Story to celebrate, writing “SEBASTIAN!!!!! yeaaaaahhhhh!!!!” and thanked the Academy.
Since going public, the couple has been spotted out and about more often, most recently sharing a touch of PDA while on holidays in Rome.
These sweet moments are rare, but are just enough to make us think they’re in this one for the long haul.
