Australia’s most stylish New Year’s Eve ritual is turning ten. Beyond The Valley, the beloved multi-day festival that fuses music, art and a healthy dose of hedonism, is back with a new theme, “It Gets Better”, and a lineup designed to make sure it does.
Topping the bill this year? Addison Rae, making her first-ever Australian festival appearance fresh off her debut album; homegrown dance juggernaut Dom Dolla; Grammy-winning rapper Kid Cudi, returning for his first local show in more than a decade; and hardcore heroes Turnstile, known for live sets that feel like controlled chaos. If that isn’t enough, JoJo is flying in for her first Australian performance, while The Temper Trap, Spacey Jane, 070 Shake and Chris Stussy add homegrown and international weight to the mix.
And because BTV is about the experience as much as the music, the extras are just as good. Think late-night dives into Poof Doof’s Cirque Du Slay and The Palms Pool House, thought-provoking talks at The Lounge Room hosted by Kat Sasso (featuring Teach Us Consent and Dr Esmé Louise James, among others), and morning-after wellness resets with meditation, saunas and cold plunges at The Sanctuary.
Stages are getting facelifts (Valley Stage, Dance Dome, Dr Dan’s), discovery hubs from Jack Daniel’s, Red Bull and Smirnoff are back in evolved form, and accommodation runs the gamut from BYO tent to luxury “Signature” packages for those who like their basslines with a side of comfort.
“Ten years ago, what BTV is now, we’d never have thought possible,” says Untitled Group cofounder Nicholas Greco. “It’s become a rite of passage for so many, and we’re proud to create a space where people can discover new artists, share unforgettable moments and ring in the new year with friends.”
