He also said shared the key benefits of this technology which include more profitable production, dye on demand, wastewater elimination and reduced energy. He also showed the profits in number as below

 More profitable production (>50%)

  • Energy costs reduced by up to 85%
  • Materials usage reduced by up to 30%
  • High throughput process 4-20X faster than dye baths
  • Total cost reduction >50%

Simon Kiew, in his live demonstration with the guests, shared the total process of waterless polyester dyeing with the Alchemic technology. He also shared the different parts of the machine along with the function.

He added that rapid automated changeover of colors and Ultra-low minimum order quantities are economically viable with this technology.

Simon ensured that production lines – available for delivery in 2020 with the below functionalities:

  • Roll-to-roll direct to fabric digital dyeing solution
  • 25 m min-1 / 1.8m wide
  • Up to 500 gsm
  • Polyester and other textile materials

Simon also ensures the excellent color consistency of this technology e.g. color consistency:  < 0.5 within and between batches.

During the online demonstration session, many questions were raised from the guests regarding the technology and the answers came up from Simon and Kevin Myers.

As it is waterless and chemical less dyeing so that questions raised from the customer that if any special kind of dyes are required or not.

In response to the question, they said that available disperse dyes of any brand can be used. Simon said that there is a small lab set up included with this machine and there is no shade change between labs to bulk production. That means 100% RFT can possible by this machine.

One of the most interesting questions raised regarding the Return on Investment (ROI). Simon ensured that if it is a 10,000.00kg project, it will come within 12-18 months.

PUMA, ADIDAS, NIKEE, and H&M have already prescribed this technology and machine for the suppliers. By using this machine, no ETP is required and it will run by electricity.

Guests requested to organize a physical demonstration of the technology as it is a new technology for Bangladesh. It will make their decision-making process easy regarding the product.

Overall the online session was very live and interactive. If this technology can be implemented in the Bangladesh textile industry, it will be easier to ensure pollution-free sustainable textile business.
