An Ode To The Best Glastonbury Fashion Through The Years

Glastonbury is back for 2025 and while 3,000-odd performances take place over the weekend, we have our eye firmly planted on the outfits.

The music festival, which has been held at Worthy Farm since 1970, sees thousands of festival-goers (including Britain’s most famous celebs) face the perpetual British rain, cold and mud in the name of music. Glastonbury isn’t only responsible for the world’s obsession with the Hunter Wellington boot but also for our love of British style. From Kate Moss to Sienna Miller and Alexa Chung, who have all brought their boho style to Glastonbury, the festival’s attendees defined a generation of British fashion.

In 2024, Glastonbury style was officially back in fine form, with Alexa Chung wearing a yellow satin midi dress on the fields, and Dua Lipa and Callum Turner also being spotted walking between shows, with Dua wearing a white tank top, and a leather skirt and boots. This year, as Olivia Rodrigo, Charli XCX, and The 1975 take to the stage, we hope to catch a glimpse of more celebrity style to add to our mood boards.

But in the meantime, we reflect back on the best Glastonbury style, from then to now.

Sienna Miller, 2004

In 2004, Sienna Miller attended Glastonbury in a black mini dress, brown beaded belt and yellow sunglasses.

Kate Moss, 2005

Kate Moss traipsing through the Glastonbury mud in a gold belted mini dress and Hunter Wellington boots in 2005 might be one of the festival’s most iconic images — and outfits. Is it a coincidence that Hunter opened a New York City store after Moss wore the boots? We don’t think so.

Gwyneth Paltrow, 2005

Gwyneth Paltrow’s knee-high lace up wellies, which she also wore in 2005, certainly deserve a spot in the Glastonbury lookbook.

Alexa Chung, 2008

Alexa Chung may have defined the next decade of fashion with her 2008 Glastonbury knee high socks, denim shorts and leather jacket combo.

Sienna Miller, 2010

Miller returned to Glastonbury in 2010 in denim mini shorts, little brown boots and a white fedora.

Emma Watson, 2010

In 2010, Emma Watson attended Glastonbury in a little corset top, black boots and denim shorts.

Florence Welch, 2010

2010 was a defining year for Glastonbury fashion — also in attendance was Florence Welch, who wore a long white dress with little brown boots.

Sienna Miller, 2013

A few years later, Miller was back at Glastonbury in another iconic boho ‘fit. This time, the actress wore a black mini dress, a red patterned jacket and a floppy black hat.

Ellie Goulding, 2016

Ellie Goulding’s blue flannel shirt and knee-high wellies is one outfit for the Glastonbury history book. Goulding wore the outfit in 2016, when she attended a particularly muddy day of the festival.

Margot Robbie, 2017

Always relatable, Margot Robbie opted for comfort in 2017, wearing a loose-fitting Mickey Mouse t-shirt with leggings and Hunter boots. But we especially love the mustard backpack and coordinated sunglasses.

Suki And Immy Waterhouse, 2019

Suki Waterhouse and her sister Immy, both looked the part when they went to Glastonbury in 2019. Suki wore a pair of baggy grey jeans with a cropped singlet, while Immy wore a black playsuit over a leopard print bra.

Sienna Miller, 2022

The queen of Glastonbury fashion returned to the festival in 2022, wearing a long red jacket over a black top and striped pants.

Poppy Delevingne, 2022

Though Love Island host, Maya Jama, and Stormzy are no longer romantically involved, we still had to include their maximalist looks from Glastonbury 2024. Stromzy wears a red and white Valentino set, while Jama wears the Dior ‘Plan de Paris’ skirt and jacket co-ord.

A few months before Dua Lipa had us lusting over her engagement ring, she walked hand in hand with her boyfriend Callum Turner at Glastonbury in 2024. While he wears a casual t-shirt and jeans combo, she dressed a white tank top up with a leather skirt cinched with a black western-style belt and slouchy black leather boots.
