It’s been a big year for fashionable film press tours. It arguably all started with the Challengers cast serving sassy slogan tees and our forever style icon Zendaya. Then the Twisters tour gave us our annual dose of Glen Powell and a stunning sartorial run from Daisy Edgar Jones. However, as we receive our first dose of Wicked mania, we’re convinced that there simply cannot be a more iconic duo than Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
With the film set to hit cinemas in November, the publicity tour has officially kicked off, with besties and co-stars Ariana and Cynthia are already dressing the part. The global premiere of Wicked took place in Sydney on October 3, with Ariana dressing in a Vivienne Westwood gown that was a remake of Glinda’s dress from the original 1939 film. Erivo donned a sleek but contemporary Louis Vuitton gown, paired with a green manicure as a nod to her character, Elphaba.
The pair’s Wicked method dressing began well before the publicity tour officially commenced, with the stars even turning up to the Paris Olympics in the pink and green palette of their Wicked characters.
The Wicked adaptation has been a long time coming, and was first announced waaaay back in 2012. It only took another 12 years for us to receive our first look at the movie musical, which dropped its premiere teaser at the 2024 Super Bowl. A few months later, the cast, which famously comprises Grande and Erivo, as well as Bridgerton heartthrob Jonathan Bailey and Grande’s new beau Ethan Slater, made a little pit stop at the Met Gala, where they slayed both steps at stage at the Metropolitan Museum.
Ever since, the film’s leading ladies have been basically inseparable, bringing both Elphaba (Erivo) and Glinda (Grande) to life through their style.

‘Wicked’ Premiere in Sydney, Australia

Ariana and Cynthia kicked off the official premiere season for Wicked in Sydney. For the event, held at the State Theatre, the pair dressed in theme, with Grande emulating the original gown worn by Glinda the Good Witch in The Wizard Of Oz. The grand pink gown was designed by Vivienne Westwood with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Erivo wore a custom Louis Vuitton black strapless gown with pannier hip detailing. Her accessories were by Roberto Coin.

Cynthia Erivo continued her green dressing stint in a very cool way for the Innovator Awards. The broadway-turned-film star donned grey trousers and a vest underneath a gorgeous green, floor-length top, all from the Erdem Spring 2025 collection.

“Hey Ari? You know this already but I love you and thank you,” Erivo wrote. “You’ll never really know what it meant to me, because I don’t have the words.”
