Australia’s cotton farmers target biodiversity

SYDNEY – Australia’s cotton farmers are confused by mixed messages about biodiversity and have concluded it should best be managed on a regional level, according to new research.

The findings are part of the Australian cotton industry’s shift towards native vegetation targets and follow a two year study conducted by the sector’s Sustainability Working Group (SWG) in conjunction with regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) bodies across cotton growing regions.
