GENEVA – Better Cotton and the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) have announced the launch of the Delta Framework, a common set of environmental, social and economic indicators that will serve to standardise progress amongst their farmer networks in the cotton sector.
Developed over the past three years as part of a cross-sector collaboration, the framework will apply to eight ‘sustainable’ cotton standards, programmes and codes, each of which have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the view to aligning with the indicators.
Better Cotton CEO, Alan McClay said: “Better Cotton is proud to have initiated and coordinated this cross-sector collaboration, which brings together expertise from across the agricultural sector.”
