Cambodian businesses forced to issue seniority pay

PHNOM PENH – Cambodia’s Minister of Labour and Vocational Training Ith Sam Heng has issued a notice which will require all employers in the country, including those in the garment sector, to pay former and current employees the seniority pay to which they’re entitled this year.  

A schedule has been created to provide clarity for workers as to when they’ll receive these finances. It comes after months of uncertainty and protests in the streets of Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh.
