Cardi B, Dua Lipa And Hunter Schafer Served Fashion Fantasy At Schiaparelli

Daniel Roseberry’s Schiaparelli collections are always appointment-viewing for Hollywood’s elite, and inevitably, at least one guest causes a stir. Highlights of the past have included Doja Cat in a full-body crimson crystal look and Kylie Jenner’s lion-head gown, and this year, celebrities didn’t fail to seize their moment in the limelight at his Fall/Winter 2025 Haute Couture collection.

This season, stars such as Hunter Schafer, Dua Lipa and Cardi B braved the rain to flock to the Petit Palais, where a line-up of looks served equal parts surrealism and dark opulence.

Cardi B claimed the unofficial prize for the most statement-making look, stepping out in a sculptural gown with distinctly avian accessories. The “Please Me” rapper ditched the brand’s gilded face handbags and replaced them with a live (and squawking) crow.

She wore a long-sleeved black column dress with a floating U-shaped neckline draped in a luminous veil of three-foot pearl strands. Originally unveiled on the Schiaparelli Spring 2024 Couture runway—where Karlie Kloss wore it sans crow and bulbous pearl earrings—the gown found new life in Cardi’s hands (and on her shoulder). Cardi B hushed photographers, upsetting her companion as she made her way down the steps, but assured the media they were firm friends. “I’m not scared of the bird,” she told WWD. “I control him. We’re best friends.”

Other noteworthy arrivals included a luminous Hunter Schafer in a sea-foam Schiaparelli Spring 2025 Haute Couture bustier dress. As Schafer descended the steps of the Petit Palais, the embroidered gown featuring bands of celadon velvet against antique-silver bugle beads trembled gorgeously with each movement. Like Cardi, Schafer accessorised with pearl earrings.

Dua Lipa took a break from her endless European holiday, swapping her polka-dot bikini for a look that read almost bridal. She has, after all, just confirmed her engagement to actor Callum Turner. She wore a paillette-covered white Schiaparelli Spring 2024 gown with razor-sharp shoulders and a dramatic keyhole cut-out. While the paillettes resembled feathers, the singer revealed they are, in fact, crafted from glycerin and lighter than they appear.

Who else in the front row caught our eye? Karol G arrived in Schiaparelli Spring 2025 Haute Couture—a bombshell, figure-hugging gown with petal-shaped matador embroidery—while Ryan Destiny stunned in pink silk-satin duchesse Schiaparelli Fall 2025 Haute Couture. The bustier dress, finished with a cascade of hand-cut ribbons, has already earned the nickname “shoe dress” thanks to its 3-D trompe-l’œil stilettos perched at the neckline. Roseberry never lets sex appeal overshadow the house’s signature surrealism.

Other guests included Natalia Vodianova, Carla Bruni, Emily in Paris star Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Gabrielle Union and couture-week stalwart Kelly Rutherford.

Schiaparelli Goes Back To The Future

As for the collection, the celebrity cohort gathered to see? Roseberry titled the line-up “Back to the Future”, signalling a return to the house’s surrealist roots. In the inter-war years, founder Elsa Schiaparelli famously collaborated with artist friends Jean Cocteau and Salvador Dalí; backstage, Roseberry said he mined the same vein of melancholic glamour. “There’s something about that era that felt mournful and also turbo-charged at the same time,” he told WWD. Gone were the sugary pastels of recent seasons, replaced by glittering, occasionally reptilian textures, while his signature hour-glass tailoring took on a bondage edge—think black saddle-dominatrix bustiers and moulded bodices with unabashedly erect nipples. Models stalked the runway in black lipstick and slicked-back buns, dialling the funereal drama all the way up. If the front row delivered spectacle, the runway matched it beat for beat.
