Weifang Jinsheng Imp. & Exp. Co. Ltd. is a sub-company of Jinnuo Co. Ltd. is accusing that they have found an empty container of their shipped fabrics at Mongla Port, Bangladesh.
Weifang Jinsheng Imp. & Exp. Co. Ltd. was established in 1998 and is located in Weifang, China. Jinnuo Group was the top ten private enterprises in Weifang in 2005. They have the strong technical and financial strength and they are specialized in this line.
Weifang Jinlong Texitles Co. Ltd. registered in 2004. They are exporting their products to United States, Brazil, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Thailand, Dubai, Spain and Bangladesh.
As Bangladesh is famous for the RMG sector they were exporting their goods to the country. They got an order of fabric from Aziz and Sons, a manufacturing company in Bangladesh. After confirmation of the order, they sent a container of fabrics to Mongla Port, Bangladesh on 3rd March of 2020 (the Container No: MSKU – 0943186 D40).
The container of the fabric reached in Mongla Port on 9th June 2020, also was confirmed by the Mongla Port authority there was a container of fabric with 18,440 Kg Gross Weight, where Container Weight was 12,300 Kg and the Net Weight was 6,140 Kg.
The Chinese company claimed that their customer could not pick up the goods due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, when they went to pick up the goods recently, they found that the seal has been changed also the container was empty. In other words, all the goods were transferred.
While Textile Today contacted with the Product Manager of Weifang Jinsheng Imp. & Exp. Co. Ltd. Joan Yu, she said that they are shocked that this could happen, especially in this difficult economic time!
“The virus has taken a heavy toll on our factory’s revenues, and the loss of goods is a further blow,” she said.
They are hoping that relevant government departments in Bangladesh will pay attention to their misfortune, thoroughly investigate and help small businesses like us to tide over the difficulties. Further, she added that they were trying to get help from the port authority but they are not responding.
Joan Yu told Textile Today, “Right now, our client is negotiating with the port according to the container inspection report from the customs.”
Textile Today also tried to communicate with the Mongla port authority but they did not respond about this phenomenon.
Now the owner of Weifang Jinsheng Imp. & Exp. Co. Ltd. Lixin Chen said that he would personally Sue the port in Bangladesh if the claim will not succeed.
