Farfetch: circular sales to exceed ‘traditional’ channel

LONDON – Luxury fashion platform Farfetch has set out new 2030 sustainability targets, a focus of which will be surpassing traditional sales with those of items that are “consciously made”.

The firm says its plan of action is four-pronged and targets reducing carbon emissions, promoting circular business models, championing ‘sustainable’ materials and embedding a culture of inclusivity across its value chain.

“We operate at the intersection of fashion, technology and sustainability. These worlds were already merging before the global lockdown, but the move to online is accelerating rapidly as a result. Setting some ambitious long-term goals is the logical next step in the company’s sustainability journey,” commented Thomas Berry, director of sustainable business at Farfetch.
