Fashion Impact Fund hosted a luncheon for the United Nations Conscious Fashion and Lifestyle Network on the occasion of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly. United Nations Conscious Fashion and Lifestyle Network is an online Platform for industry, media, governments and UN system entities to showcase the inclusive and transformative collaboration of global stakeholders to drive work within the fashion and lifestyle sectors using the Sustainable Development Goals as a guiding framework.

The program was a joint initiative of the United Nations Office for Partnerships, the Division for Sustainable Development Goals – United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the Fashion Impact Fund.

The luncheon, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, welcomed industry stakeholders to celebrate the sector’s initiatives using the Sustainable Development Goals as a guiding framework for improving people and the planet. The program was supported by Arch & Hook, Artistic Milliners, Avery Dennison, bluesign technologies ag and PYXERA Global.

Lotta Tähtinen, Chief of Outreach and Partnerships Branch, Division for SDGs, United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs gave the opening speech while J. Renay Loper, Vice President, Program Innovation, PYXERA Global and Head, TIE Global Artisans and Thompson Yao Avornyotse, Master Weaver and Founder/CEO of T.Y. Kente Enterprise shared their special remarks. The lunch concluded with a discussion moderated by Sheena Butler-Young, Senior Correspondent, The Business of Fashion, reviewing how industry innovation is driving change in the sector.
