Leather dresses are poised to become a new autumn staple, and they happen to be one of the key trends for autumn/winter 2019. Elizabeth von der Goltz, the global buying director for Net-a-Porter, explained in her trends report that “leather has become a key player in our wardrobes; it’s now much more accessibly priced, and the breadth of styles means we can wear it all year long.”
A leather dress can feel elevated if it has the right silhouette and fit, which is shown by an ASOS leather-look £65 midi dress that feels really premium. It comes in a rich sand colour, has a zip down the front, puffy sleeves and a panel effect on the skirt. This might have a real autumnal feel, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t buying and wearing it now. At Copenhagen Fashion Week, one showgoer wore it with chunky black sandals and a shoulder bag, while ASOS insider Lotte paired her dress with white platform Converse and a mint-green mini bag.
