Images of the Week: Virgil Abloh’s Friends and Collaborators Remember Him in “V”

Visits: 24

Just three months after the prolific designer and artist Virgil Abloh died in November 2021, his friends and collaborators sat down with filmmakers Chloe and Mahfuz Sultan to film interviews about Abloh’s life and career. Those interviews, shot during the Paris Fashion Week shows in February, are now immortalized in the new short film “V,” which premiered this week in New York and was made in collaboration with Vogue.

This week also marked the end of Pride Month. Celebrations were held all over the world, from Paris to the Philippines. The annual KyivPride relocated to Warsaw, Poland, and doubled as a march in support of Ukraine.

Wedding season is in full swing. If you need any inspiration just look to actor Alexandra Daddario’s wedding to Andrew Form, model Kate Bock and basketball player Kevin Love’s elegant New York ceremony, or PJ Magerko-Liquorice and Jordan Millington-Liquorice’s whimsical Pennsylvania nuptials.

There were plenty of runways to watch this week as well. Loewe didn’t disappoint with clothes decorated with living plants, and neither did Lourdes Leon modeling for Marine Serre. Always one to embrace a far-flung locale, Jacquemus showed fall 2022 in the south of France’s salt mountains. Stateside, Marc Jacobs made a return to the runway with a sculptural fall 2022 collection displayed at the New York Public Library.
