If there’s anything more magical than watching The Australian Ballet perform at the Sydney Opera House, is watching The Australian Ballet perform The Nutcracker at the Sydney Opera House.
The Nutcracker could not only be called the world’s most famous ballet, but also the most festive – given it explores through dance (and one girl’s vivid imagination) the magic that surrounds the night before Christmas. On Tuesday evenng, the house of Chanel took the opportunity to invite friends of the maison to an exclusive private performance to celebrate their continued partnership with The Austrlian Ballet, which began in 2020. As a Living Heritage Partner, Chanel has committed to preserving the history of The Australian Ballet, and also supporting the talent that is still to emgerge from our national ballet corp.
The Australian Ballet’s Creative Director David Hallberg aptly noted when welcoming guests at Bennelong restaurant that there is truly nothing more “magical” than watching The Nutcracker during the holiday season. And magical the night was, with a guest list that included Australia’s brightest, and most stylish, talents from the film, fashion, music, beauty, literary and publishing industries.
