Wearing a mask is rooted in practicality, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be well-designed from an aesthetic perspective. There’s no excuse not to wear one, especially as the market continues to fill up with striking styles. We’ve even begun seeing masks used as music merch or political statements, too. But leave it to a star like Jennifer Lopez to take the mask and use it to add some glam to a casual outing.
While out for a bike ride in Manhattan this week with fiancé Alex Rodriguez and her two children, Emme and Maximilian, Lopez wore a face covering that embodied her glam personal style: a sequined mask. The sparkly pink creation is designed by Katie May and is called the “Disco Ball” face mask. It retails for $26. Lopez styled the statement mask with a lilac tee by Alexander Wang, sweatpants, and sneakers for a sportier finish (she is, after all, going for a bike ride—not heading to the club). Her signature gold hoops were also in full effect. The whole look proved that wearing a mask can still look damn good. So just wear one in public, y’all.
