Kate Hudson Reveals Fiancé Danny Fujikawa “Stayed Behind” to Put Out Wildfires in L.A.

Kate Hudson is among a small list of celebrities whose homes went unscathed in the Los Angeles wildfires. Though the actress revealed that she's safe, her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, willingly chose to stay in Los Angeles to help with the wildfire relief efforts.

"I wanted to check in and just say thank you for all of your support and concern and thoughts and prayers for us," Hudson said via Instagram, according to People, with her 6-year-old daughter Rani Rose sitting next to her. "We went back into the Palisadeswent back for the first time. It was a very intense day. We're very lucky our house is still standing."

"But we are in the center of a lot of our friends and people we love very much, whether they be homeowners, store owners, people who work in our community," she continued. "They’ve lost their homes and their jobs and things, so we are definitely just trying to support our community as much as we can."

The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actress then issued a thank you to everyone who has helped in some way with the relief efforts.

"All the other people affected in Los Angeles, all the first responders, the firemen, the pilots are just incredible, and all the neighbors who stayed behind," she continued, taking a moment to thank her fiancé. "Daddy and Uncle Michael, who stayed behind and put out spot fires. All the other brave people fighting to protect us…we're so grateful."

In light of the fires, some celebrities have donated funds, as well as their time, to the relief efforts. Taylor Swift donated to 11 charities that are helping with the fires, while Jamie Lee Curtis and Beyoncé donated $1 million and $2.5 million respectively. Meghan Markle and Prince Harryvolunteered their time to relief efforts, while Hilary Duff opened up her home to Mandy Moore's family.
