Mango Teen opens its first Metaverse store in Barcelona

Famous multinational clothing designer and manufacturer Mango is opening its first metaverse store in the Westfield Glories shopping centre in Barcelona dedicated exclusively for adolescents. Spanish design agency Masquespacio created the interior aiming to provide an interactive and dreamlike shopping experience.

By analyzing Mango Teen’s customers, girls and boys aged 11 to 13, the design explored a connection point with their lifestyles.

“The best thing about being a teen is that you are living the whole time in a world full of dreams, a world full of things to be discovered. It’s an age where you start to dream big, without taking into mind the limits. Above in your dreams, strange things are happening that are out of the box… things that are not real.…” said Ana Hernández, Art Director of Masquespacio.

Thus, the new Mango Teen store is established as a dream world even though dreams come true in this place through design elements that play with the mind and invite the user to interact with the objects around them, bringing the metaverse world to reality.

Masquespacio’s design aims to create a distinct brand identity using orange and green color palettes and graphic shapes to outline the display of clothing. The design elements are made to showcase the cloths as much as possible and are also attractive which provides a unique shopping experience. The futuristic tunnels, swimming pools, hotel receptions and washing machines invite teenagers to enter a universe where they can let their imagination flow and use the space how they dream about it. The changing rooms are designed for TikTok-loving teens further encourage interaction with the digital world.

Mango Teen stores are designed as a leisure space and a meeting point for the youngsters where they can socialize and enjoy a unique shopping experience. The collection is renewed every two weeks, so that its product offer can be constantly renewed and adapted to the current needs.​​
