Swedish fashion influencer Matilda Djerf is officially engaged. She announced the happy news on her Instagram on July 30, with a carousel of photos that show her and Rasmus Johansson, her long time partner and Djerf Avenue cofounder, immediately following the engagement. The post was captioned simply with, “besties for life ”.
The proposal took place at the coupleâs favourite spot, where they were surrounded by close family. Djerf wore a breezy white silk gown while Johansson wore a white shirt and khaki chinos. The carousel included candid photos of the pair, including a brief video of them embracing after the engagement, a rainbow over the ocean, and a glimpse at her impressive engagement ring, believed to be a large oval or marquiseâcut diamond.
Djerf also confirmed the happy news to People at the time of the announcement. “Rasmus and I are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives!” she told the publication. “We were lucky to be surrounded by family in our favourite place to celebrate our proposal.”
She later reposted the carousel of images and videos to her Instagram story, thanking her followers for all of their love and support following the announcement. “Thank you all for the sweet sweet love you’re sending our way,” she wrote. She followed this up with a mirror selfie that gave a slightly better view of her ring, and it’s even more impressive than we thought at first glance.

The pair reportedly first met during high school and have been on the journey of building Djerf Avenue, the hugely successful but controversial fashion label, together. In case you don’t know the back story, Djerf was forced to address bullying allegations at her company in December 2024 after 11 employees claimed she had made fatphobic comments and described the workplace culture as “psychological terror”. She addressed the allegations with a lengthy apology, saying, âTo anyone who Iâve hurt or let down, I want to start off by saying Iâm genuinely sorryâ.Â
âI had never built a company prior to this, and under a lot of stress, high tempo and naivety I failed to the leader and colleague I wish to be along the way,â Djerf said, adding that she was now committed to âgetting it rightâ.
In the seven months since, she has kept a relatively low profile. In a 2024 interview with Forbes, Johansson also explained the dynamic of their relationship. He explained the pair had âworked together since the influencer and modelling jobs, and itâs been six years now,â which means they âknow what works and what doesnât”.
He also gave a hint as to when they might start their own family, saying it isn’t in their immediate plans. âWe need to find a better balance eventually, especially when we have children. We want time to be ourselves and be together as a family,” he said, adding that it was a few years away.
“Because weâre just starting and hustling. Currently, weâre only working hard without it affecting anyone else. So, itâs okay with just the two of us. Weâll have to wait before expanding into having a family.â
