Popstar Olivia Rodrigo has sparked fresh engagement rumours after The Daily Mail reported that she was spotted in Los Angeles on August 10 wearing a sizeable ring on her left hand during an outing with boyfriend Louis Partridge. If the rumours are true, this is just one of the many celebrity romances that have been taken to the next level this year, following in the steps of Tom Holland and Zendaya, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez and, most recently, Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks.
The couple were first spotted together in London in October 2023, and confirmed their relationship in December that year when they were photographed kissing in New York. Since then, Partridge has supported Rodrigo on the Guts tour, and they have appeared at major events, making a stylish red-carpet debut together at the Venice Film Festival in August 2024 for the premiere of Partridge’s series Disclaimer. Partridge shared a picture of the couple looking glamorous to his Instagram stories.
Both have kept the romance relatively private. In March 2024, Partridge addressed the attention around their relationship in an interview with British Vogue. He said “dating probably shouldn’t be done in the public eye,” and added that Rodrigo has “got tons and tons of eyes on her case.”

But Rodrigo’s feelings about Partridge are clear to anyone who listens to her music. On her deluxe album Guts (Spilled) her track “So American” was widely interpreted by fans as an acknowledgement of Partridge and a hint at her future plans. “Oh God, I’m gonna marry him/If he keeps this shit up,” talk about dropping a hint girl.

During her set at this year’s Glastonbury festival, the singer gushed about her boyfriend and how he inspired the song. She told the crowd: ‘One thing you should know about me is [I] f***ing love England, I love England so much…As luck would have it, I also really love English boys, I wrote this next song about getting to know a boy from England who loves beans on a jacket potato. I took all our little jokes and made a song called, “so american“.’
Partridge, for his part, has been similarly effusive. He recently posted a heartfelt tribute after Rodrigo’s career-defining Glastonbury 2025 set. He wrote: “I hope you caught Olivia’s show last night. A truly special performance on such a huge scale.
She worked her ass off for it and couldn’t be more deserving of all her success and for the great crowd that was watching. What a moment #glastonberry
”
Rodrigo responded in the comments with a playful “GlastonBERRY ilysm,” and later made a hard launch on her feed, making their first post together.
Most recently, the couple were papped kissing, cuddling, and generally canoodling in the crowds at Wimbledon, seeming more loved up than ever.
As for the ring, it remains a (sparkling) talking point rather than a confirmation.
