I don’t know about you, but there’s something about the springtime that makes me want to shop. Certainly spring cleaning has something to do with it; the “out with the old, in with the new” mentality ensures I have ample space to invest in fresh styles—but there’s also an energy about the season that makes me want to step up my style because, well, outfits can actually be seen. Coats are being packed away, boots are going into hibernation, and it’s all about showing off what you’re wearing. So, on a mission to level-up my warm-weather wardrobe, I scrolled through Nordstrom website for hours (no joke), and I ended up with 20 can’t-miss styles.
Nordstrom’s sale section currently has 33,000-plus deals, which is both good and bad—good because the options are ample, which means you’ll find a style for you, but also bad because you can easily spend hours on Nordstrom (which I did).

While it certainly took a while to narrow down 33,000 to a mere 20, you’ll probably know that I am quite picky, so the staples I buy have to be that: staples. Not to mention, I have a list of brands I look for one sale (a wishlist, if you will), and I always check to see if anything I’ve been dying to buy did, in fact, get marked down. This way I know it’s something I really want—patience sometimes is the best, and this time around so many things I’ve kept a close eye on are cheaper than I’ve seen in a while.
Suede jackets are trending, and this Free People Trucker has been living in my mind rent-free for months. It has the perfect silhouette— slightly oversized but still refined, plus functional flap pockets and cool buckle detailing on the hem. I also love that it’s faux suede, which means rain showers won’t damage it. These wide-leg cargos from Reiss (which I tried on back in February) are also en route to me; I loved the fit, but I couldn’t justify spending full price. Now, they’re on sale for $171, so you can best bet I’m getting them now.

I’m eyeing a mix of spring and summer staples, and that means a few long-sleeve layering essentials as well as breezy dresses for the impending picnic-in-the-park season. I love anything Reformation, so when I saw this breezy, boho-inspired midi for 30 percent off, I knew I had to make it mine. I plan on styling it with cowboy boots and a suede hobo bag for the foreseeable future.
I’m also a die-hard Favorite Daughter fan, so I might be biased, but the brand truly created my dream jacket—it’s structured yet feminine, and I love the details, a.k.a., a scoop neck, elegant buttons, and flap pockets. I’d wear it with black capris and flats or baggy jeans and pointed-toe pumps. Chic!

I love shoes; if you open my hallway closet (which is supposed to be shoes and jackets), you’ll see mostly shoes on top of shoes. So I always get excited for a seasonal fresh when it comes to my footwear. Right now, I’m all in on Cowboy boots, but I love this toned-down version from Dolce Vita that has that coveted Western flair with a stylish touch. The 40-percent-off price doesn’t hurt either. I’m also totally a ballet flat devotee, and these dainty Mary Jane flats from Jeffrey Campbell have my full attention.
Of course, Tory Burch on sale and a designer Vince pair are must-buys, too. Sorry to my overstuffed shoe closet, but these deals are too good to pass up.

Of course, I’d be remiss not to mention the great bag deals at Nordstrom right now. A bag, whether roomy and functional or edgy and cute, adds so much to an outfit (it’s a small-but-mighty accessory that shouldn't be slept on), so when I get the chance to snag one for less, I take it, especially if it’s designer.
This Givenchy Mini Voyou Leather Hobo is nearly $700 off, and when it comes to that designer, that’s a lot. I love the simple silhouette, but I’m especially fond of the belted detailing that gives the mini a cool-girl edge. I’m also a sucker for a good weekender bag, and this one from Cos checks all the boxes; it’s roomy, so I can stuff a weekend’s worth of clothes into it, but also stylish, with a quilted exterior that makes it perfectly suitable for schlepping around town.
