It’s official! Saoirse Ronan is pregnant with her first child with husband, Jack Lowden. The Little Women actress was seen walking in London this weekend with husband Jack Lowden (and their dog Fran) and sporting a baby bump, according to photos obtained by The Daily Mail. Her representatives did not immediately respond to PEOPLE‘s request for comment.
The news follows Ronan’s attendance at Louis Vuitton’s star-studded Cruise 2026 show in Avignon’s Palais des Papes, where she was the epitome of elegance in a black silk gown with lace detailing.
The 31-year-old actress has been acting since she was nine years old, but it was her role in Atonement when she was 13 that really put her on Hollywood’s radar. She has since appeared in countless projects, from starring opposite Margot Robbie in Mary Queen of Scots, to starring as the iconic Jo March opposite Timothée Chalamet in Little Women. She even appeared in Ed Sheeran’s ‘Galway Girl’ music video as the Galway Girl.
Ronan and Lowden met on the set of Mary Queen of Scots in 2018 and they are notoriously private, so much so, that we didn’t even know she and Lowden were dating until after they had married. Just eight days after their wedding in Edinburgh, Scotland, Ronan sat down with British Vogue and the conversation naturally moved towards their family aspirations. When asked if she’d like children, Ronan gave a rare insight into her personal life.
“Yeah, I do,” she said. “I became successful when I was quite young. So it meant that, actually, by the time I found my partner, I’m now at the stage where if it happened, I would like to have a kid. I feel fortunate enough that if I step out of this for a minute, I’m hopefully not giving it up forever. But, yeah, I’ve always wanted that.”
Though Ronan doesn’t have an Instagram of her own, Lowden regularly posts photos and videos of his wife, often proudly promoting her latest projects (they regularly work together as well).
