Two years after captivating the world with her debut album Young in Love, Kita Alexander is back — and she’s done playing it safe. The rising pop powerhouse has announced her highly anticipated sophomore album, RAGE, set for release on Friday, June 26.
The announcement arrives alongside the album’s title track and lead single, also titled ‘Rage’, accompanied by a stunning one-take music video shot against the sun-drenched backdrop of Byron Bay. It’s a bold first glimpse into the new sonic world Alexander has been carefully constructing — and if the single is anything to go by, the wait will be well worth it. Though we might be waiting a few more months for the album, the first single will drop at 5pm on February 19, with the music video coming out shortly after.
“Rage has been the catalyst of positive change in my life over the last couple of years. The album is about an emotion I’ve always had but never understood. It’s me looking at it and embracing it as a new friend and realising that I don’t have to shut it down or avoid looking at it,” Alexander says. “An emotion that is usually seen as ugly or wrong has helped me have the confidence to create necessary change in my life that I was otherwise scared of doing. Rage has helped me find what truly matters to me and to change my life in ways that work for me.”
Since Young in Love announced her as one of Australia’s most exciting pop exports, Alexander has been quietly — and not so quietly — cementing her status as a force to be reckoned with. Last year, she joined Dua Lipa on the sold-out, ten-date Radical Optimism Australian and New Zealand Tour, before jetting to the UK to perform at The Great Escape festival and a sold-out headline show in London. Back home, she headlined her own Press Pause Tour to an adoring Australian crowd and even performed at ELLE‘s own Next Gen Awards.
Her impressive catalogue of pop anthems has now surpassed 500 million global streams. Last year was a landmark year for Alexander, who released three singles, including ‘Press Pause,’ ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Home,’ and ‘Bluray’ each reaffirmed her ability to crafting earworms with emotional depth. ‘Press Pause’ also earned her a 2025 ARIA nomination for Best Pop Release, which she also memorably performed at the ARIA Awards ceremony.
Now, with RAGE, Kita is stepping into an entirely new chapter, and with a title like that, it seems to be one that many women will relate to. Whatever comes next, she’s clearly just getting started.
