The heart of the garment industry beats at IGM 2022

IGM 2022 – Istanbul 27th International Garment Machinery & Spare Parts and Sub-Industry Exhibition, one of Türkiye’s leading international exhibitions in its field, was held with high participation on 8-11 September at Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center. The exhibition, held with the partnership of Tüyap & Teknik Fuarcılık and the cooperation of KOMID (Garment Automation Machinery Manufacturers Association) and INSAD (Istanbul Embroidery Manufacturers Association), hosted a total of 9822 visitors from 64 countries, of which 1483 are international and 8339 are domestic visitors. The exhibition, attended by 100 companies and company representatives from countries including Türkiye, Japan, United States, China, South Korea, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Bangladesh and Iran, became the most comprehensive meeting point of the industry where all technologies used in garment and ready-to-wear production from sewing to cutting, from ironing systems to packaging and from embroidery to printing were exhibited.

The latest textile machinery technologies were exhibited for the first time at IGM 2022

Domestic machine manufacturers introduced their latest technology and innovations developed in the last 4 years for the first time, and the latest models of embroidery machines were exhibited in operation at IGM 2022, the first international exhibition held in the apparel industry after the pandemic. While global buyers had the opportunity to shape their investments for four days, the machine sales and new commercial collaborations contributed to the development of both Türkiye’s and the world’s trade volume.

Numerous company managers stated that they signed new business contacts and machinery sales during the exhibition and expressed their satisfaction with the fact that the visitor profile consists of industry professionals. The countries where the visitors come from are as follows: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Democratic Republic of Congo, Croatia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Slovakia, Somalia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Togo, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uzbekistan, Venezuela.

Considering the dates of the exhibition held in the same sector in different countries of the world and in Europe and the achievements of the sector, an exhibition calendar was determined for the IGM to be held in odd-numbered years. It has been announced that the exhibition will be held in 2023 and in the following odd-numbered years (such as 2025-2027) so that companies will not be under the burden of the exhibition in terms of both time and budget by participating in more than one exhibition in the same year.
