If you felt a twinge of emptiness creep in when the second season of And Just Like That… wrapped up, then you’ll be pleased to know the series is officially coming back for a third season. And we now have the And Just Like That… season three trailer teasing some pretty big moments.
In the new clip, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) is adjusting to life in her allegedly rat-filled apartment. She can’t even escape from them in a park, while writing al fresco swarm almost hit her Margiela Tabi Monster pumps. Carrie has decamped following a split from her on-again-off-again-on-again squeeze Aidan (John Corbett).
And, in sad news for imaginary New York City media, Carrie has given up the most well-paid column-writing gig in history and podcast to write a novel. Her agents suggested she give romantasy a go.
Are Carrie and Aidan Still Together In ‘And Just Like That…’ Season Three?
Carrie and Aidan split again last season, and it looks like Carrie has a handsome new neighbour. But, Aidan does seem to be spending a lot of time in the city (he’s meant to be caring for his kids in Virginia).
What Are Miranda and Charlotte Up To In ‘And Just Like That…’ Season Three?
Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) has a work crush, and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) has just walked in on her daughter making out with someone. Meanwhile, Seema (Sarita Choudhury) is feeling bored with the bachelor’s of NYC.
What Happened In Season Two?
So what went down in the last season, which aired its final episode on August 24, 2023?
In season two Carrie and Aidan got back together (but then broke up again?), Che and Miranda split (much to the relief of fans), Charlotte and Miranda went back to work (after the former delivered a wonderfully passionate speech), and Lily and Brady started hooking up (and we’re not sure how to feel about it).
Basically, a lot happened. Which leads to our next question: What will happen in season three? Below, we answer that and more, including what we know about the plot, release date and cast.

Is There Going To Be A Season Three Of ‘And Just Like That…’?
In short, yes! And Just Like That… was renewed for a third season in August 2023 and confirmed by HBO, following the successful first and second seasons.
“And Just Like That… here comes season three,” said Michael Patrick King, the executive producer and showrunner, in a statement.
What Will Happen In Season Three Of ‘And Just Like That…’?
While it’s still a little early to know what exactly will go down in season three, we can expect the return of Carrie and her best pals, Miranda and Charlotte, as they continue to navigate life and friendship in their 50s.
“We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these amazing actors,” said King.
We do hope, however, to have a better idea of where exactly Carrie stands with Aidan, following his rather elusive “five-year break” pitch, and to see Miranda officially enter her single era.

Which Cast Members Will Be Returning For Season Three?
Expect the return of Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte) for season three, as the series continues to follow their lives and the drama that comes with it.
We can also expect to see the return of Sarita Choudhury (Seema) and Nicole Ari Parker (Lisa) in season three, judging by the focus of their own separate storylines in seasons one and two.
However, it’s still up in the air if we’ll see more of John Corbett (Aidan), given how his on-screen relationship with Carrie fizzled out.
It’s also been confirmed that both Sara Ramírez (Che) and Karen Pittman (Nya) will not be returning for season three due to the end of storylines and scheduling conflicts.
Is Kim Cattrall Coming Back For Season Three?
Unfortunately for die-hard Sex and the City fans, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see the return of Kim Cattrall – AKA Samantha Jones (or Annabelle Bronstein if you will) – in season three, given her history with the franchise.

But that’s not to say it’s completely off the table, as she did make that rather iconic cameo in the season two finale, but more on that here.

As for season three, mark May 30 in your calendars because that’s when episodes will begin to drop exclusively on Max.
The 12-episode season will debut new episodes weekly on Fridays, right up until the season finale on August 15.
