There’s a unique fury that comes with the creasing of concealer. One minute your makeup looks immaculate, the next it’s settled into crevices you didn’t even know existed. And all by 10am? Offensive.
It’s not like you haven’t tried to remedy the issue—your skin prep routine is working as hard as it possibly can and your concealer tube of choice swears ‘creaseless’ is its primary personality trait.
Accepting your dim fate isn’t the only option. TikTok (as it so often does) has dug up a hack that actually makes perfect sense. When recreating a covetable eyeshadow look, you wouldn’t dare tap on any pigment without an eyeshadow primer, would you? Well, we advise you treat your under-eye area the same way you do your lids.

Makeup of any kind needs something to grip onto, concealer included. Skin is thinner around the eyes, so makeup that goes in this delicate area has its work cut out for it. And often, it fails miserably. That’s precisely why an eyeshadow primer is the concealer prep step your daily face is missing.
We’re not claiming it’s a trick that works bar none—as with anything, your formula selection matters. Eyeshadow primers earned a bad rap for a reason—they came out of the gate heavy, drying and with a bright white pigment that never faded nor flattered. Next-gen options, however, have swapped sticky residue for a smooth finish, if you know where to shop.
The formula that reframed them for us? The Glam Raider Beauty High Impact Eye Primer. It’s got the kind of ingredients list that makes you feel like you’re applying an eye cream, but unlike eye cream (which was previously suggested as the secret to crease-free concealer), it actually makes a difference hold wise. Nourishing jojoba seed oil, hydrating hyaluronic acid and soothing aloe vera are all in the mix, working to create a smooth base for concealer to spread evenly over. So no, a drying feel isn’t an issue here.
Another previous eye primer faux pas the Glam Raider Beauty formula has done away with is the chalky white finish. Instead, this one dries down into a universal, colourless base. Don’t be alarmed when it goes on white initially; it’s temporary. You’ll soon be left with a base with the same appearance as bare skin, just a lot more grip.
As for application, you’ll want to take it onto skin in a similar way to your concealer itself. Simply use a brush or your finger to gently tap it in under your eyes, waiting a few minutes before layering your concealer over the top.
