What Coats Are In Style For 2025?
Coats never truly go “out of style” they’re staple pieces and some iterations (the classic trench being an example) are evergreen. That said, two styles that have experienced a resurgence are the blazer coat and the Penny Lane. Existing at opposite ends of the spectrum they answer to very different objectives.
The blazer coat combines the polished structure of your favourite corporate jacket with the warmth of a traditional coat. Worn oversized. it also lends a louche cool to a more corporate look, a a bit of polish to to a casual look (wear with a white tank, loose black pants and a baseball cap for an off-duty model look).
Meanwhile, the Penny Lane, otherwise known as the Afghan coat, is a cosy, flirty 70s style that is suddenly everywhere. We love it because it turns winter dressing which often feels like a functional chore into a flamboyant statement. Wear it with jeans and jumper, wear it with knee high boots and a mini skirt, whatever you wear with it, you’re already making a statement.
