Was A Third Season Of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Just Confirmed? We Think So

Late last week, the 2025/26 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading team was announced and New Zealander Faith Ward made the cut. Though she was born across the ditch, Ward moved to Australia at 10 years old and has spent much of her time here — certainly long enough for us to claim her as our own.

But when Ward was announced, the immediate assumption was that she would be one of the rookies followed closely in the third season of the hit Netflix show, America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, except well, a third season hasn’t yet been confirmed. This isn’t alarming yet, since the second season wasn’t confirmed until November 2024.

There are plenty of reasons we think the show will definitely return for a third run. The first is obvious. Both seasons of the show have been huge successes to date, with the recent second season gripping audiences perhaps even more than the first, so we can’t see Netflix suddenly cancelling it. Plus, with an Aussie making the team this year, we expect it to be an even bigger hit when it lands on our screens next year.

It might seem hard to believe, but no cameras have been spotted in the background of the cheerleaders’ TikToks. This may seem hard to believe until you realise they were clearly not allowed to film any of the process at DCC headquarters.

But our second hint that Netflix was filming a third season came on July 21, when Ward spoke with The Today Show. “Obviously, the series that everyone is hooked on, you’re going to be at the centre of that now,” started host Sarah Abo. “Is that something that you kind of manifested for yourself?”

Ward, we noticed, didn’t immediately shoot down that filming had occurred and if we’re running on the theory that no news is good news, well then this is very good news. “Obviously, I loved watching the series, but for me, it was never about just being on the TV show,” Ward responded instead.

“It was more just being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. I’ve trained my whole life being a dancer and a cheerleader but I’ve never actually held a pair of pom poms. The cheerleading that I was doing was quite different.” She goes on to explain that her new role is allowing her to combine both of her passions in one job.

One look on Ward’s Instagram and TikTok accounts will tell you that fans are excited to see her on the show next season. The Netflix show has become known for showing the gruelling auditions process and showing what it really takes to be a cheerleader on the most famous squad in the world.

The second season also tackled serious issues, like fair pay for the DCC team and also followed veteran cheerleader, Chandi Dayle’s, experience navigating coming out of an abusive relationship. These are only a couple of the reasons why viewers have fallen so in love with the women on the team (including the firm but fair DCC director, Kelli Finglass). We’ll update you as soon as Netflix finally announces a third season of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
