Riley Keough has long resisted being defined by her lineage. The granddaughter of Elvis Presley has built her own career as an actress, director and producer, balancing Hollywood legacy with an instinct for projects that feel personal and unexpected.

That instinct carried through to her appearance at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, where she attended the photocall of Noah Baumbach’s latest film Jay Kelly, in which she stars, wearing Cartier high jewellery.

Her look was anchored by Cartier’s Cafayate necklace from the En Équilibre High Jewellery collection, a piece that required 1,460 hours to create. At its centre are two opals of 5.64 and 4.59 carats, their iridescent flashes of red, orange and yellow, echoed by three sapphires set around each stone.

Along the chain, rose and yellow gold intertwine with 51 custom-cut Umba sapphires in half-moon shapes. Their warm tones of orange, yellow and pink form a wave of colour, a design that reflects Cartier’s vision of balance: precision without excess, harmony found in opposition.

Keough paired the necklace with a look from Chloé’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, combining fluid silks and sheer layers with Cartier’s architectural precision.

The film, releasing November 20, follows George Clooney as a movie star who abandons his latest project and sets off across Europe with his devoted manager Ron, played by Adam Sandler. What begins as a whirlwind trip becomes a reckoning with past choices, strained relationships and the legacies left behind.

Clooney’s character is grounded by his family, with Keough as his eldest daughter. The ensemble includes Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Greta Gerwig, Emily Mortimer and Isla Fisher. At Venice, the film received a 10-minute standing ovation.

On the carpet, Keough’s presence captured what has long defined her career. Thoughtful, magnetic and never showy, she has built a reputation on making choices that feel intentional rather than inevitable.
