As the weather begins to cool down (hopefully), it’s a great time to pull the blankets off the top shelf of the closet, hunker down and get cozy in front of the TV. Luckily, Netflix has a whole new crop of offerings for us; below, take a look at some of the films and shows we’re most looking forward to, as well as a full list of everything hitting the site in September.
Chef’s Table: BBQ (September 2)
This season of the Emmy-nominated series will focus on barbecue, spotlighting techniques from North Carolina to Australia to Mexico (and, of course, who could forget Texas?)
Love, Guaranteed (September 3)
Rom-com fans will plotz at this one, which features Rachael Leigh Cook as an earnest lawyer and Damon Wayans Jr. as the charming new client enlisting her to sue a dating website. Do they fall in love? Time will tell.
I’m Thinking of Ending Things (September 4)
Based on the novel by Iain Reid, this Charlie Kaufman horror film follows a young woman who travels with her new boyfriend to his parents’ secluded farm. Spooky!
Ratched (September 18)
Sarah Paulson stars in this Ryan-Murphy-produced prequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, which follows the fear-inspiring Nurse Ratched early in her career.
A Love Song for Latasha (September 21)
This documentary follows the killing of 15-year-old Black Los Angeles resident Latasha Harlins by Korean convenience-store owner Soon Da Ju, 13 days after the brutal beating of Rodney King by the LAPD, and provides an insightful and still-relevant look into the 1992 L.A. riots.
