If you’ve suddenly found yourself wondering how and where to watch Glastonbury 2025 from Australia, settle in, because we have all the answers. The annual festival officially kicks off on Saturday our time, marking 55 years since the iconic, five-day festival started.
Glastonbury Festival is a cornerstone of British music culture, and began as the Pilton Pop, Folk & Blues Festival. The first festival was organised by a dairy farmer named Michael Eavis, who hosted it at the same location where it’s still held today. It’s obviously evolved a lot since that first year, which took place the day after Jimi Hendrix’s death and had a £1 entry fee that earned revellers free milk from the farm.
Over the decades, Glastonbury has evolved into the world’s largest greenfield music and performing arts festival, earning its reputation as a showcase for an eclectic mix of music, arts, and its commitment to social and environmental causes.

Throughout its history, Glastonbury has hosted iconic performances, from David Bowie’s legendary 1971 set on the original Pyramid Stage to Beyoncé’s ground breaking 2011 headline performance. It’s also acted as an important stage for emerging artists, like in 2019, when Stormzy made history as the first Black British solo artist to headline the Pyramid Stage.
This year is set to be just as exciting, with acts like Rod Stewart and Charli XCX performing alongside Doechii, The 1975, and Gracie Abrams. And of course, there are often some iconic celebrity spottings at the festival too, with celebrities taking a more relaxed approach than other global festivals like Coachella.

Thankfully, in 2025, a lot of the action will also be available to stream online. Here’s exactly where to find it.
Where To Watch Glastonbury 2025 In Australia
Last year, Glastonbury was available to stream on SBS On Demand, though annoyingly, it was just a series of one-hour highlights from the weekend, rather than a live stream of the event. There’s no word yet on whether that same feature will be available this weekend.
In the UK, Glastonbury will be streaming on BBC iPlayer all weekend, but of course, the platform isn’t available in Australia without using a VPN to bypass the location blockers.
We also expect that social media will be flooded with highlights from the event, so that might be the simplest way to follow along from home.
Who Is Playing At Glastonbury 2025?
Over the five-day festival, more than 3,000 performances will take place at Worthy Farm ranging from the biggest stars in the world to emerging talent. Below, we’re noting the most well-known performers and which stages they’ll be playing on so you can plan your searches accordingly.
On Friday, June 27, the biggest acts include: The 1975, Alanis Morissette, Busta Rhymes, Gracie Abrams, Franz Ferdinand, Wet Leg. Saturday, June 28 sees Neil Young, Charli XCX, Doechii, and Deftones take to the various stages. And on Sunday. Olivia Rodrigo, Rod Stewart, The Prodigy, and Noah Kahan are the main headliners.

Who Is The Mystery Headliner For Glastonbury 2025?
One headliner who has caught everyone’s attention goes by the name of Patchwork, who was quietly added to the program, in the 6.15pm slot on Saturday night. If that name doesn’t ring any bells, you’re not alone, because currently no one knows who it is.

People are speculating that the mystery band could be a huge headliner, since in 2023, Glastonbury hosted an act who went by Churnups and they ended up being the Foo Fighters. This time around, everything from Chappell Roan to Haim, to Pulp, Mumford and Sons, and even Oasis and Harry Styles have been thrown into the mix. Basically, no one knows but surely it’s going to be good.
