How might you describe 2025 to someone who didn’t live it? The year Justin Bieber stood on business? The era in which Katy Perry went to space and then dated Justin Trudeau? The 12-month period that saw bare feet become inexplicably trendy and fang-bearing Labubus swing from every bag? Try as we may, no one sentiment truly captures the rich randomness of the past 365 days. To state the obvious, this year was strange. Fashion-wise, there were mood-boosting highs (Jeremy Strong’s mint suit at the Golden Globes) and social-media storm lows (Bianca Censori’s see-through slip on the Grammy red carpet). There were viral weddings (the Bezos’ Venice-ascending nuptials) and internet-breaking separations (West End Girl took over the algorithm). Timothée Chalamet got a buzzcut and went method; Kim Kardashian co-signed the merkin; Michelle Yeoh did this a lot. With such dense source material to parse through, how on earth can we best sum up this year? Fret not. As a result of egregious screen time, I’ve gone through the most memorable moments, and distilled the best for you below. Behold: the fashion winners of 2025.
Best couple: Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz
[instagram-oembed url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DOMZ3apAaCQ/?hl=en” /] Typically, celebrity couples fall into one of two camps: those who look like they are headed to opposing events (Justin Bieber’s slobbish attire never matches Hailey’s slicked-back polish) and those who appear to have mapped out a moodboard and committed to a colour story (case in point: Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet’s recent ultra-orange appearance). But a third, more esoteric category is not about heavily orchestrated coordination or subversive incongruence; it’s about vibes. And this is what Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz bring to the table. Often wearing low-slung baggy jeans, just-right T-shirts and subdued hues of grey, white and navy, Styles and Kravitz (Stravitz?) appear always aligned in their elusive, effortless energy. Though they’ve never walked a red carpet together, their grainy paparazzi shots reliably circulate the internet. They’re just cool, and their laid-back clothing captures this.
Best stylist: Simone Beyene
[instagram-oembed url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DRozBdWjYez/?hl=en&img_index=1″ /] In a pop realm dominated by bedazzled bodysuits and stage-ready costumes, stylist Simone Beyene chooses to put her client Olivia Dean in real, romantic clothes that add to her musical storytelling and elevate her essence of vintage glamour. Whether she’s dressing Dean in buttoned-up Chanel separates or sexy Diotima knits, her styling builds on her client’s personhood, instead of boxing her into a reductive pop product.
Best suiting: Colman Domingo

Menswear has undergone a stylish evolution in recent years, and this is in part thanks to Colman Domingo. On every red carpet, he recontextualizes the classic suit, adding brooches, fringe overlays and regal capes to the mix. In the world of red carpet dressing, he has transformed the black-tie tux into something fantastical and boundary-breaking. And in 2025, his formalwear legacy only got sharper.
Best wedding: Charli xcx

Apologies to a certain Sanchez, but Charli xcx’s wedding was simply more Brat. A few months after Jeff Bezos rented out the literal city of Venice to say “I do”, Charli xcx and George Daniels had a more intimate ceremony in Sicily. The Vivienne Westwood gown she wore for her civil ceremony a few weeks prior was stunning, but her custom Danielle Frankel dress for the Italian getaway was all the more ethereal—with sheer chiffon layers and asymmetrical draping. Best of all, each detail reflected the hyper-pop party girl, with crystal cigarette trays, Aperol Spritz cocktails and vintage cameras to capture the internet-royalty guests. A gritty photo of Alex Consani in the midst of a cocktail-hour gossip session? The best wedding gift one could ask for.
Most sneakily sexy: Pedro Pascal
[instagram-oembed url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DMsbtaAsJd4/?img_index=1″ /] It’s long been said that Pedro Pascal emits a certain uncle-adjacent energy. But 2025 was the year that he shed that wholesome title in favour of a decidedly crush-worthy aesthetic. He wore sheer tops, bicep-bearing tanks and languid polka-dot blouses with scarves trailing daintily behind him. Rest assured, Pascal remains a lover of kitsch and comfort. But his allure is undeniable, because it’s clear he always loves what he’s wearing.
Best paparazzi planner: Addison Rae

Let’s not kid ourselves: the days of true celebrity candids are long, long gone. Kirsten Dunst eating salad as Jake Gyllenhaal looks on lovingly? A relic of the social-media-free past. In their place, a more calculated, campy “candid” has emerged. (Think Julia Fox ingeniously calling the paparazzi to photograph her in a trash bag.) And this year, Addison Rae mastered the art. From her dramatic poses and spins to her impossible-to-understand night-out ensembles, Rae has done wonders for the premeditated paparazzi shot. And for that, we thank her.
Most colourful: Timothée Chalamet

While quiet luxury, greige and Pantone’s “cloud dancer” colour of the year suggest that lack of vibrancy is in vogue, in 2025, certain stars fought back. Jeremy Strong deviated from his “broufit” for a green suit. Travis Kelce has enjoyed a rust-coloured tux. But perhaps most explicit in his devotion to saturated shades is Timothée Chalamet, who wore a butter-yellow ensemble to the 2025 Oscars. The Givenchy suit was the result of many of Chalamet’s other colour-conscious clothing choices. He’s worn baby pink puffer jackets and contentious red-gradient velvet. Recently, he evoked a tall glass of syrupy Fanta in his orange appearance with Jenner. One thing’s for sure, there are plenty more colour stories to come.

Best LBD: Margaret Qualley

A little black dress lives in its own aesthetic category. It’s the perfect day-to-night staple, and it can be both easy-going and stop-you-in-your-tracks sexy. The latter is the case with Margaret Qualley’s spaghetti-strapped knit Chanel number, which she wore to the premiere of Honey Don’t in August. Completing the look with a slicked bun, minimal makeup and diamond studs, Qualley reminded us of the chic power of simplicity.
Best makeup: Zara Larsson
[instagram-oembed url=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DRpMECSiB97/?img_index=1″ /] With the release of her latest album Midnight Sun in 2025, Larsson has solidified herself as a Gen Z It girl to watch, and her makeup has been just as mesmerizing. Courtesy of makeup artist Sophia Sinot, Larsson’s glam has spanned everything from rhinestone-lined lids to celestial-inspired blushes to high-contrast lip looks. Dreamy, dramatic with nods to the art of drag, Larsson and Sinot have emerged as the crowned winners for all-out glam. Continue Reading
