7 of Amal Clooney’s Best Vintage Looks to Date

Visits: 24

Amal Clooney is enjoying a fashion moment—just look at her custom 16Arlington gown on the red carpet or the sequined Ermanno Scervino minidress she wore recently in Lake Como. What you might not have noticed, though, is the sheer amount of vintage in Amal’s wardrobe.

Indeed, the human rights barrister was wearing vintage on the red carpet long before the current trend took off, opting for a dazzling Yves Saint Laurent number from 1981 while attending Berlin International Film Festival back in 2016. She also memorably wore a one-shouldered Jean-Louis Scherrer by Stephane Rolland gown while at a Prince’s Trust dinner at Buckingham Palace in 2019, sourced from William Vintage (an expert dealer that also counted Meghan Markle among its fans, before it closed its doors during the pandemic).

On the workwear front, Amal has an enviable collection of ’60s coat dresses, ranging from Balenciaga to Courrèges, as well as two-piece suits from the likes of Christian Dior. Always exuding elegance, the mother-of-two shows how to do vintage both by day and by night.
