A$AP Rocky Drops a Big Hint About the Name of His and Rihanna’s Third Child

Rocky said this week he felt “amazing” about becoming a dad for the third time.

The world finally knows about Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s third child on the way—and the rapper is giving a taste of what the new addition’s name might be.

Rihanna and Rocky are already parents to sons RZA and Riot, and on the May 7 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, Meyers asked Rocky, “Your first two kids have ‘R’ names—obviously you and Rihanna have ‘R’ names. Is this a lock that the third will have an ‘R’ name, do you think?”

To this, Rocky—born Rakim Mayers—responded (via E! News), “For sure.”

Rihanna debuted her baby bump just this past Monday at the Met Gala, where Rocky served as a co-chair. At the May 5 event, Rocky told the Associated Press of Rihanna’s third pregnancy that “We were tired of holding that, and it was time to show the people what we was cooking up. I’m glad everybody’s happy for us, because we’re definitely happy.”

“Honestly, it’s a blessing nonetheless,” he continued. “Because you know how, like, some people in other situations at times can be envious of other people. But we’ve been seeing love for the most part. And we real receptive to that and appreciate that, you know what I mean?” He added, “That’s love. Love is love.”

Later in the night, as Rihanna shut down the blue carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (and prepared to climb its iconic stairs), she told Entertainment Tonight, “I’m good, shockingly feeling okay and not too overwhelmed at the moment. At first, I was kind of like—tired, but I’m excited.”

And, for those wondering, the multihyphenate said her third pregnancy won’t force her to stop the music (see what we did there?), specifically her highly-anticipated ninth album. When asked if her third baby would halt anything with the project, Rihanna confessed, “Maybe a couple videos,” adding, “but I can sing.”

In an April 2024 chat with Interview Magazine, Rihanna hinted that she was open to more kids, telling the publication that she would have “As many as God wants me to have.”

“I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two,” she continued, adding, “I would try for my girl. But, of course, if it’s another boy, it’s another boy.”
