Chanel has a new crush, and so will you. The house has unveiled Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu, the first extension to the Coco Mademoiselle line in six years, and named Gracie Abrams as the face of its next chapter.
Abrams is already a Chanel house ambassador and the face of the Coco Crush fine jewellery collection, and she carries the same distinctive, slightly mischievous confidence that inspired the original perfume.

The iconic Chanel Coco Mademoiselle parfum has its origin story in 2001, when perfumer Jacques Polge set out to capture the spirit of a young Coco Chanel, the distinctive boldness and savoir-faire she carried when she first arrived in Paris. He built on an earlier creation, 1984’s Coco, a resinous and ambery perfume, trading its dark heart for a sweeter, more luminous rose-and-jasmine centre.
The result was a beguiling, seductive scent that fans have found addictive for 25 years. Coco Mademoiselle remains one of the most popular perfumes in the world. Now, Jacques’ son, Chanel in-house perfumer Olivier Polge, has picked up where his father left off, bringing Coco Mademoiselle into its next evolution.

Coco Mademoiselle has always had a slightly edible quality, and this has been dialled all the way up with new, mouthwatering facets in Crush Absolu. The opening is bright and juicy with a grapefruit and rosy-sweet lychee accord that melts into the classic rose and jasmine heart. The perfume settles into an ambery, woody base of patchouli and vetiver, threaded with soft vanilla.
Floral. Fruity. Woody. Sweet. Think of it as an amplifier for whatever version of yourself you’re intending to be on any given day. The release is in line with the overall mood at the Maison, where creative director Matthieu Blazy has brought a sense of effervescent wit and lightness to the house’s grand history. Juggling amber and lychee, mischief and magnetism, Crush Absolu captures this spirit.

Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu will launch on September 2. In the interim, you can view the Coco Mademoiselle collection at chanel.com
