One of Victoria’s Secret‘s longest-serving Angels and international supermodel, Candice Swanepoel, has still got it — that much she proved on the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway. Since making her Victoria’s Secret debut close to two decades ago, Swanepoel has added founder and creative director of swimwear and resortwear brand Tropic of C to her resume, along with mother of two sons, Anacã, 10, and Ariel, 8. But does Candice Swanepoel have a partner? That’s a little more complicated.

After dating the father of her two sons, Brazilian model Hermann Nicoli, for 14 years, the two went their separate ways in 2018. They met while forging their modelling careers in Paris, Swanepoel aged 17 and Nicoli, 23, and dated for a decade before getting engaged in 2015. Two children later, Swanepoel and Nicoli sadly called it quits.
Since then, there have been rumours about other potential love interests in Swanepoel’s orbit. In fairness, between running a business, a household and a career as a supermodel, she probably has enough on her plate. But we’re nothing if not curious, so after seeing Swanepoel strut her stuff on the runway again, we thought it could be time to take a look back at her relationship with Nicoli.

Does Candice Swanepoel Have A Husband?
Despite being engaged to her longtime boyfriend Hermann Nicoli for three years, Candice Swanepoel has never been married. The couple got engaged in 2015 after a decade of dating, with a source telling E!News at the time that she “couldn’t be happier.” In 2018, following increasing speculation that Swanepoel and Hermann had split after they unfollowed each other on Instagram, Swanepoel took to her Instagram Stories for a Q&A, confirming that she was single.
Swanepoel met Hermann when she was 17 years old, having left her home country of South Africa for Paris to pursue modelling. Nicoli was doing the same, trading Brazil for the City of Lights, and the pair began dating soon after meeting. Speaking to GQ in 2010, Swanepoel said of her relationship with Nicoli, “We’ve been together for four years now. Since I was 17. We met in Paris one summer and he’s been there for me ever since.” Describing what she looks for in a man, she said, “Someone relaxed and laid back, who can tell me to take a seat and chill out.” “Is there someone doing that for you now?” GQ probed. “Hermann Nicoli,” Swanepoel responded.

In 2015, the pair announced their engagement on Instagram. According to HELLO! Magazine, Swanepoel recalled being in no rush to tie the knot as she “already [felt] married.” “Ten years is kind of a marriage already, so I don’t really need papers to tell me that,” she said.
The pair remained engaged for three years, and in October 2016, welcomed their first child, Anacã. In December 2017, Swanepoel announced she was pregnant with her second baby, and in June 2018, gave birth to another son named Ariel.
Around the same time, eagle-eyed fans noticed Swanepoel and Nicoli had unfollowed each other on Instagram, and in November of that year, Swanepoel confirmed the pair had split in an Instagram Q&A.

Who Has Candice Swanepoel Dated?
Since her split from her long-term partner, Swanepoel has been tight-lipped about her personal life, instead directing attention to her brand, Tropic of C, and focusing on raising her two sons. She has made a few comments about dating over the years. In 2012 she told AskMen “I like a man who looks like a bad boy but knows how to treat a woman like a queen.” Don’t we all. In 2022, Just Jared reported that Swanepoel and Spanish actor and model Andrés Velencoso (who dated Kylie Minogue from 2008 to 2013) were spotted arm-in-arm strolling through Paris, but that was their only public sighting, and all signs suggest that Swanepoel is happily living her single-mum supermodel life.
