ESATTI, an alumni association of the centenary (109 years) educational institution Textile Institute, Tangail, held its epoch-making function on January 1, 2021, at Priyanka Shooting Spot, Dhaka. Engineer Mahbubul Islam Mridha Sohag presided over the day-long program.
The event was inaugurated by Engr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman CIP, President, Institution of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET) and Managing Director of Hams Group.
Among others Dr. Engr. A.K.M. Faridul Azad, present Principal of National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) and former Principal of Tangail Textile Institute; newly elected President of Association of Textile Engineers & Technologists (ATET) Engr. Md. Aminul Islam and Managing Director of Dara Technology (BD) Ltd.; Engr. S M Shohel Rana, General Secretary of ATET and Managing Director of Denim Solutions Ltd; and from former President Forum of ESATTI Engr. Golam Kibria Ripon, Engineer Nazmul Ahsan, Rathin Chaki, Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Humayun Kabir, Awlad Hossain Tuhin, Engr. Zafar Mahmud, SM Kamal and others.
Engr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman CIP, the inaugural speaker of the event, assured that Textile Institute, Tangail would be transformed into a renowned textile university soon. Dr. Engr. A.K.M. Faridul Azad gave instructional speeches towards a career to his favorite students.
In his speech, Engineer Nazmul Ahsan highlighted the role, contribution and advantages and disadvantages of textile diplomas in the textile industry.
Engr. Md. Aminul Islam and Engr. S M Shohel Rana gave a nice and sublime speech on ESATTI and the textile industry. Engineer Golam Kibria Ripon and Eng. Moazzem Hossain Sarkar gave a constructive and beautiful speech about the organization.
ESATTI’s dreamer Eng. Arifur Rahman Siddiqui discusses the history and activities of ESATTI in detail. General Secretary Engg. Mahbubur Rahman presented his bi-annual and financial report.
At the same time, the newly elected committee of ATET has been given a crest and a scarf. Textile Today was the Media Partner of this event.
Engineer Golam Kibriya Ripon and Engineer Aminul Islam announced the names of the ESATTI’s selected committee for 2020-2022. Engineer Raju Ahmed, Deputy Director of the Dept. of Textiles Ministry of Textiles and Jute has been elected as the President and Engineer Sohag Sen has been elected as the General Secretary. Finally, a raffle draw and a pleasant cultural event were organized. Nurunnabi, Lecturer, Dept. of Fabric Manufacturing Engineering at NITER hosted this session.
