Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo is already taking motherhood in her stride. The pageant girl-turned-content creator gave birth to her first child with NFL husband Christian McCaffrey on July 13, named Colette Annalise McCaffre. And before heading to the hospital she shared exactly what she packed.
“I worked really hard on this,” Culpo starts the video. “I know how overwhelming the whole process is… [and] I hope it can be a good resource for people because I’ve watched so many videos.” She goes on to show everything that’s in her bag, which consists of two large suitcases. (“I am such a pillow snob, so I knew that I was going to need specific pillows.”)
In the comments of the video, there is plenty of good natured ribbing. “OLIVIA ARE YOU MOVING TO THE HOSPITAL” one of her friends, Cara Santana Leto, commented. Another wrote, “lol please stitch this when your packing your hospital bag for baby #2”, which has garnered 11.5K likes so far.
Another commenter wrote, “as a labour nurse… literally bring whatever you want, comfort is important especially if you have a c-section and have a longer hospital stay!” Culpo was also hanging out in the comments, receiving them all good naturedly. She joked with her friend, and told a commenter who laughed at the electrical candles that she was “SOOOOOO happy I had these”.
Of course though, there were also commenters who were a little bit, shall we say, patronising? One wrote, “Beauty sleep in the hospital with a newborn. Bless your heart!!” but Culpo explained that actually her sleep masks were perfect for naps because she was too nervous to turn the lights off and lose sight of her baby, so they made it easy to sleep with the lights blaring. “Nothing anyone says will change my mind lol sorryyyyyy,” Culpo said in one comment.
Aside from her pillow, which in our opinion, is a completely reasonable thing to pack, she has listed everything else:

- A comfortable blanket

She didn’t go into great detail about what was included in the nappy bag, though we imagine it was all the necessities, like wipes, a changing pad, burp clothes, and of course, nappies. (We rate the Huggies Ultra Dry Nappy Pants with Rapid Dry technology for when baby grows a little bit, but of course, she’d be more likely to pack a newborn-appropriate size.
She also detailed exactly what Christian would be including in his allocated quarter of a suitcase, and honestly we respect her for even allowing him that much space. “A lot of this stuff is more luxuries as opposed to essentials, and I’m aware of that,” she said, joking that if “you think I’m ridiculous and that I overpacked, (1) I slightly agree with you, and (2) you made it this far in the video and I commend you for that”. We appreciate that validation.
