Chanel has returned to Paris Fashion Week with a dreamlike show at the Grand Palais. The atrium-like space provided a light and airy backdrop for the brand’s latest ready-to-wear offering, complementing the flowing, feminine fashions on the runway.
Designed by Chanel’s creative studio, the Fall Winter 2025/26 collection drew on legacy icons of the house, including its famous pearls, tweed and bows. The new collection played with scale, exaggerating the size of these classic motifs, including pearls, bows, tweed and the white camellia flower. Bows, in particular, were repeated in every shape, size and texture, from pearl-bordered cutouts to oversized chunky knit bows. The maison’s signature bow was carried through to the space itself, where a large black ribbon served as the runway’s backdrop.
Contrasts in size and length played throughout, with cropped jackets paired with exaggeratedly long trousers, oversized poplin shirts extending down to the ankles, and fitted tweed jackets becoming long coatdresses. The suiting and tailoring of Chanel’s iconic tweed sets were also a highlight of the collection. A three-piece outfit in red tweed consists of a silk-lined micro-jacket, a wrap skirt and a pair of flared trousers. Other tweed sets were featured in bronze and champagne and, of course, in Chanel’s signature black and white.
The collection’s hyper femininity extended to accessories, where we saw sock with bows, delicate ankle boots and pearl-shaped clutches. Removable ruff-collars, black lace and faux fur accents tied together the ensembles with popular throwback trends.
