ANNECY – French sportswear brand Salomon has announced that it has developed a fully recyclable performance road running shoe, the Index.01, which will go on sale next spring.
The Index.01, the company’s first shoe that is designed to be disassembled and recycled, is the result of three years of research and development at Salomon’s Annecy Design Centre in the French Alps.
It features a recycled polyester upper and a TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) sole, both of which can be recycled separately at the end of the shoe’s life.
