In a huge shakeup to reality TV, Bravo has announced that Vanderpump Rules will be getting rid of its entire cast for season 12. While cast members have come and gone from the Vanderpump crew over the years, this is the first time the reality series has cleaned house entirely. While we’re waiting to find out who will make the new set of SUR-vers, the casts’ reactions to the news are slowly eking out. Here’s what they had to say.

Ariana Madix

The beloved Ariana Madix took to Instagram to share an emotional farewell to the series alongside a carousel of highlights. She said she was grateful for her chance to be part of the “phenomenon” and that she was “at peace with closing this chapter”. Read her full statement below.

“Vanderpump rules, you will forever be that girl 💖 i was up til 4am looking for all the right pics and the right words, but there’s no post or caption that could ever encapsulate everything,” she began. “i am forever grateful to have been a part of such an incredible cultural phenomenon. thank you @bravotv , @lisavanderpump@evolutionusa for every experience over the last 10+ years. thank you to every single crew member, producer, and our showrunners. seeing you guys every summer was like coming home to see family! that i will miss very much but you have my number so… just text me 😂 thank you especially to the fans. you’ve been the constant over the last decade your love and support is what I’ll miss the most about it ending. you made this show what it is. to the fans who have shown up for us, old and new, it’s all because of you that we are here. im feeling at peace with closing this chapter and im excited for everything that is to come. i don’t know that these were the best days of our lives, but they were definitely something special 💖

Former castmate Kristen Doute, who has moved to sister-series The Valley commented: “I am so grateful because without it, would we have found eachother?! cheers to the memories and making new ones.” Does this hint that Madix will move over to The Valley?!

Lala Kent

Lala Kent has never been one to shy away from sharing her thoughts, but her farewell to Vanderpump was surprisingly tender.

“Where to begin. I was a young girl from Salt Lake City who made her way to L.A. I would introduce myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend referred to me as Lala, my nickname quickly stuck,” she wrote on Instagram. “Sur was a place that became home. I found myself not only sipping on vodka sodas there, but behind a hostess stand… it still to this day is the most intimidating job I’ve ever had. A short time later the opportunity to be on a show called Vanderpump Rules landed in front of me. I have such mixed feelings right now. It’s no secret I do not like change. This is the exception. I want to say thank you for rocking with us for so many years. This show changed my whole life. I’m unbelievably grateful for every moment. I’m unbelievably grateful for Bravo, for NBCU, for our crew, the entire cast, and most importantly all of you. We rocked this bitch until the wheels fell off 💃

Katie Maloney

Katie was not-so emotional over the news, it seems. “It’s a mixed bag,” she wrote on Instagram stories. “But I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for the memories and the love the last 11 years.” She then shared a series of photos throughout the years with her female castmates. Meanwhile, Katie’s brother, Joey, chimed in with his own comments. “After 11 seasons I will not returned as #backgroundbrother on #pumprules,” he commented, adding, “Real talk… Proud of you [Katie] for making it through it all.” Katie shared the Instagram story and added: “You killed it brother”.

Lisa Vanderpump

Lisa, the SUR restaurant owner who is the only cast member returning for season 12, bid a succinct farewell to her main cast on Instagram. “What a wild ride the last 11 years have been. Thank you to all of our cast for sharing your lives and stories and for being a part of this journey. How I’ve loved each and every one of you,” she wrote.

Tom Sandoval

Sandoval is yet to comment on leaving the show, he is going through a closure of his own—the closure of his bar, Sandy’s. He and Tom Schwartz announced the closure of the bar only yesterday, and are still sharing farewell tributes on their social media accounts.

James Kennedy

James is yet to publicly respond.

Tom Schwartz

Tom reacted to the news by sharing a mash-up of Vanderpump clips, set to the Friends theme song. He kept his statement brief, writing: “How the last 12 years replays in my mind.”

Stassi Schroeder

Stassi is yet to post anything on her own Instagram, but she did comment on Schwartz’s post with: “Oh man this ❤”.

Scheana Shay

Scheana is yet to comment.

What’s Next For The Vanderpump Rules Cast?

It’s been a long journey for many members of the cast, who started as restaurant waitstaff and wound-up reality TV megastars. Many also have families of their own to care for. However, it’s not the end of the reality road for some cast members, who will join fellow Vanderpump alum Kristen Doute, Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor on The Valley.

Which Vanderpump Stars Are Moving To The Valley?

While they won’t return to Vanderpump season 12, but Deadline reports some will make a move to Vanderpump spin-off, The Valley. While we don’t know the extent of their roles—are they cameos? Season regulars? New stars?—these four Vanderpump cast members filmed something for the new season.

  •  Lala Kent
  • Scheana Shay
  • Brock Davies
  • Tom Schwartz

Stay tuned as we find out if they’ll make the big move, or stay away.
