Where Is The ‘Big Brother’ Australia 2026 House? Tour Every Single Room

Big Brother is back and the house is bigger, better and more pastel than ever. Leaving the house’s iconic Dreamworld location on the Gold Coast behind, this season will see the housemates move into a brand-new abode in the Brisbane suburb of Hemmant at Screen Queensland Studios.

After a two-year hiatus, Big Brother returned to Network 10 and the Gold Coast house where it all started in 2025 with Mel Tracina as host, tapping into early 2000s nostalgia in a bid to get the older Millennial and younger Gen X viewers back on side. Surprisingly, it worked, with Variety reporting the premiere delivered Network 10’s strongest reality television launch of the year.

This year, Network 10 have upped the ante, trading Dreamworld for Big Brother Dreamhouse, complete with turquoise walls, neon pink lighting, questionable artwork and little to no privacy in any of the rooms — showers included. With 80 cameras installed it definitely sounds like a dreamhouse for the show’s producers. As for the contestants, well, that remains to be seen.

Where Is The 2026 Big Brother House?

Big Brother‘s new digs is in Hemmant, a riverside suburb about 11 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, built within Screen Queensland Studios. The “house” is more like a set, which means no natural light (only ultra-bright lighting), although the house does have a small aquarium built into the wall, so at least there’s some semblance of the natural world in there.

Why Did The Big Brother House Move To Brisbane?

Unfortunately, it wasn’t all sunshine and great ratings at the Big Brother abode in Dreamworld. Its location meant park guests took audience involvement to the next level (read: got in the way of production) and by the same token, production was disruptive to the operations of Dreamworld, causing one roller coaster to be closed for the duration of filming. In the end, Big Brother and Dreamworld had no choice by to go their separate ways, and for Big Brother, that meant heading to Brisbane.

The new house is perched in the riverside suburb of Hemmant within Screen Queensland Studios, a sprawling warehouse-like set that, from the outside, is nothing to write home about. On the inside though, things look much brighter. Literally.

Inside The Big Brother House

To recreate the fever dream, 80s-leaning feel of the original Big Brother house, Network 10 recruited designer and art director Kimberley Connor, who, speaking to RealEstate.com sought to “elevate it and make it a bit more luxe this year.” A pool and sauna were added to the set, and when it came to the home’s interiors, Connor opted for an abundance of soft finishes and enveloping furniture to create a space the contestants “could be really comfortable in.” Unfortunately, the bathroom didn’t quite get the same treatment, with the showers offering nothing more than a frosted glass panel for privacy. If that wasn’t exposing enough, there’s also a pair of armchairs positioned directly in front of the showers, in case a couple of voyeuristic housemates plan to take their meetings shower-side.

Unlike fluorescent lighting and velvet, privacy isn’t in abundance at the Big Brother house. Showers aside, all the housemates will also be sharing one dormitory-style room while 80 cameras, hidden in every nook and cranny of the house, are poised and ready to capture the housemates getting cosy, behaving badly and, almost certainly, embarrassing themselves. In a synopsis for the forthcoming season, Network 10 wrote, “Everywhere the housemates turn, the house turns on them,” and judging by the eye-wateringly bright, tripping-on-acid flavour of the interiors, they weren’t kidding.
